Drink Deep by Chloe Neill

I'm cautiously optimistic at this point with where the series might be heading. I was much happier with the ending of this book than I was book 4. There are still some major disappointments, don't get me wrong, but I think this story could turn out better for Merit than I had originally thought.
So, I'm very curious as to what and who Tate is. Old magic, sorcery, some other sup we haven't met yet? I also have a somewhat bad feeling about Simon still. Not nearly as bad as when I first started this book, but I'm still not a big fan.
The most shocking to me was the end. I could not have predicted who was responsible for the changes in Chicago and I was flabbergasted when I realized what was going on. As usual, I'm having a hard time expressing how I feel without posting spoilers, so suffice it to say that my heart was in my throat and I am anxious to see where this is going.
