This book pulled me in straight away! With all the dark and broody characters, secret keeping, and hidden magical abilities, I COULD NOT put this book down! Scarlett is one of the three Wraiths of Death in her City of Baylorin, they were each orphaned at a young age and taken under the wing of the Lord of Assassins to trained them in all things stealth, torture, and fighting tactics.
A year after a terrible tragedy, Scarlett is no longer speaking to the Assassin Lord and is staying with a high ranking Noble Lord Tyndell. While brushing up on her fighting skills with her best friend Cassius, she meets the trainer and leader of the King's elite fighting force. He seems different just like herself, and she tricks him into training her in hand-to-hand combat.
The about of political intrigue, plot twists, and secret keeping in this series is SUPERIOR! Ms. Melissa K. Roehrick has landed herself on my MUST-READ author list. I'm so excited to meet her at the Villians and Vixens event!
