Stone Cold Notes by Julia Wolf
4.0
hmmmm..... reading about this type of obsession was fun... would it be equally as fun in real life? Probably not. I found myself pulling out of the pages to take a breather because Callum is INTENSE and then going this is weird, scary and I would run away fast if this was happening to me and my 3 year old. But while I was heads down in the story I was right there and ready to accept Callum completely manipulating this women's life for 3 years without her knowledge.
But he's rich, famous and good looking so that makes crazy obsession a little bit more palatable right?
There were a lot of flaws in both Callum and Wren, we didn't get as much background on Wren as we did Callum so she just came across as a chubby girl with no self esteem and fighting depression. Meanwhile Callum's adolescense seems to explain his oddities.
Interesting twist with the voyeurism kink and the fact that Wren was the only person Callum had ever had penetrative sex with.
I did find the single mom trope to be just that.. pretty tropey. She got pregnant after 1 night with a friend of her cousin during a depression spiral after feeling rejected by Callum. But he didn't know who she was so......
I had a lot of thoughts on this one I gues.
