I think this a strong start. Definitely a SLOW burn. I think the author did a good job developing the characters. Side characters in a lot of romantic fantasies can be one dimensional and flat, I don’t feel that happened here.
A little bit of mystery, a little bit of romance, a lil twist, and a lil funny. All around it’s a good time and I’m excited to see where the story goes.
YES IF: you want a pretty low stakes intro to fantasy. Something funny or kind of silly.
NO IF: you want romance forward or epic fantasy
