this book was a dark retelling of sorts of alice of wonderland, the way it was told was that alice after getting home from wonderland had a huge scar on her face and was taken to a mental hospital because of her crazy behavior that followed. in the mental hospital she meets hatcher, and they talk to each other through the mice hole.
after 7 years, the mental hospital catches fire and hatcher escapes with alice. after that they’re just on a series of adventures, from visiting the cheshire cat, to the caterpillar, to the walrus, defeating bad guy after bad guy. there was also this monster called the jabber walkey that hatcher could hear and they defeated that too.
iloved how they saved all of those girls from the sex slavery that was going on and also the romance between alice and hatcher, this book wasn’t the best book ever by any means but it definitely gave dorothy must die vibes, i love a good story retelling!
