Freya is blessed by a goddess who protects her and her Jarl wants to use her to become a king over all. His son, Bjorn, is sworn to protect her as they make plans to take over Skaland and eventually Nordeland.  

I devoured this book!  I’m glad I waited to read until the second book on the duology was released so I could go right into it!
