Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer

2.0

This is by far my least favorite of all the books she's written. However, I once again feel that I can't write a completely uninfluenced review. So many of my friends so vehemently hate it that I know it is rubbing off on my impression of the book.

I really enjoyed meeting more vampires and further getting to know Rosalie, Jasper, Leah, and the packs in general.

I agree with Ms. Ice that her portrayal of parenthood is much too easy.

In fact, I thought the whole pregnancy thing was wierd. Well, not the pregnancy but the birthing process. What's wrong with the good ole' fashioned way, huh? No need to make it melodramatic, now.

And then there was Jacob's imprinting on Renesme (which is a horrible name, by the way. Carlie is acceptable, but Renesme is not good; and Nessie is worse; why not Ren or Wren for a nickname? Much more cute)which totally was a cop-out to me. Mom's theory is that the egg was in Bella this whole time drawing Jacob towards her. The makes sense in a creepy way, but is unnecessary in my opinion. It would only have been half of Renesme, anyway, which doesn't seem like a complete enough person to have the dedication he had towards Bella...

But it's for fake.
