When Women Ruled the World: Six Queens of Egypt by Kara Cooney

informative

4.0

This was such an engaging read. It did a wonderful job of uncovering the impact of key  female figures from ancient times up to modern times. I appreciated that it described the likely experiences, actions, movements, and challenges that leaders of old faced, and it provided food for thought for the women of today. What I found most interesting was the fact that despite what might have happened with some of them, their story was not erased.

This is not a one and done read, rather it is the type of book that should be consumed one bite at a time.

Whether readers label it as having a political slant or not, it cannot be refuted that it still holds valuable insight and undeniable truths as to what women have had to endure when they assume leadership positions. In my opinion, it speaks to the strength, grit, tenacity, courage, and determination that all empowered women must possess.
