I must say, that book was quite a ride, though not all of it was pleasant. Despite that, there were some brilliant moments in the book such as the development of the Pip's character and how she transforms from a 'good girl' to someone darkened and dealing with PTSD since the events in previous book. I think that any reader can appreciate her changed personality and understanding her completely.

The mystery surrounding the DT killer and realisating that she is being stalked is absolutely fantastic. I found myself getting completely engrossed in the story as the plot thickened.

However, THEN IT HAPPENED! The pivotal moment in the story, and it occurred quite early on, that truly changed everything for me. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but let's just say that Pip, becomes a manipulative and disturbed character who uses her friends and even Ravi, whom she knows adores her to get away with quite awful crimes.

I understand that if something like this happened to me, something might snap, and I can put myself in her shoes. However, the extent to which she drags Ravi, the person she supposedly loves, and involves him in her crimes is simply unacceptable and it can be dressed up as this lovely relationship between the two of them but in my opinion, it's simply manipulation!

Moreover, despite the author's extensive research on crime scene analysis, there are holes in Pip's cover-up that any half-decent investigator could have noticed. However, the point seems to be that the police are useless and do not bother to look beyond the obvious.
And then there are her parents. Can they really be that oblivious that they don't see the marks on her body or ask any questions?

Overall, I found the story to be quite frustrating and a disappointing end to the series and the last few chapters were infuriating!
