4.5

Representation: Biracial supporting character, Native American side character, Black side characters, Hispanic side characters

Fails to reach 5-stars because of all the OW drama that I didn't feel there was proper closure on. I wanted Connor to bluntly put Rynda in her place – they are friends only, he's in love with Nevada and he'll always put Nevada first.

Safety Rating: Safe with Exceptions

• No cheating
– However, the Hero is kissed by his ex-fiancé and doesn't stop her (she puts her arms around his neck). He's been friends with her since childhood and she's an empath so she realizes in a split second it was a mistake and that he's in love with the Heroine. But, I found it annoying he didn't stop her and just stood there.
• Does have OW drama
– The client in this book is the Hero's ex-fiancé who uses the Hero for emotional support and safety. She actually had the audacity to tell the Heroine that, "I need him [the Hero] more than you right now [the Heroine]." The OW had no respect for their relationship and was actively trying to win back the Hero 'cause he felt like a security blanket – and the HERO DID NOTHING TO PUT A STOP TO IT. Ugh.
• Does have OM drama
– A perfect genetic match (magic-wise) makes himself known to the Heroine and propositions marriage. The Hero doesn't like it when the shoe's on the other foot – I cannot with these double standards.
• Does have the Hero pushing the Heroine away (he doesn't think he's a good choice for her since their magic isn't complimentary).
– Hero is 100% IN LOVE with the Heroine, though.
• No separation

Possible Triggers: Yes
