The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

5.0

The Fault in our stars by John Green has seemed to be everyone favorite book last year. It was released last year and it has already received several awards. It is also said to be the most ambitious work of John Green.

Hazel Grace has cancer. She attends to a supporting group at church. There she meets August, who went there one day to support his friend Isaac. Augustus is one of the lucky ones, as he got cured. Hazel and Augustus start hanging out, they introduce each other to their worlds. And through the look for the end of an unfinished book, “An Imperial Affliction”, they fall in love. They end up sharing everything, even the things they did not want to share.

The Fault in Our Stars was an outstanding book. It was compelling and brilliant. Starting with the characters. These are irresistible, as impossible not to fall in love with them. August was the perfect boy; he was romantic and hilarious also not too cheese. Hazel was able to take the pressure out of the cancer thing by her sarcastic comments. Isaac was the perfect friend, honest and nice. Moreover, even the “evil character” had a reason to act in the way he did, because people are not good or bad, they just act in a bad or a good way depending on their feelings.
In addition to that John Green made instant love reasonable and realistic.
The only, little, flaw I was able to find was that it was predictable. However you keep wishing the predictable ending not to happen. Making the book really compelling.

All things considered, The Fault in Our Stars was a fantastic book. If you like books that made you feel, I definitely recommend this book to you. As this book will make you feel happy, surprised, angry, hopeful, and sad. If you don’t like those kinds of books maybe you will appreciate how it is beautifully written. Obviously, it is a 5 stars book.
