Please don't hate me.. I really thought I would love this.

I loved these characters. I loved Inej, Nina and Jesper especially. I loved the relationships between them all. I loved learning their motivations as the story unfolded. I loved how their backstories were revealed slowly and at crucial times during the plot. But honestly? I didn't love this story.

I thought to myself, 'what the hell is better than a heist novel with a bunch of morally grey misfits?'. Well, turns out there are a lot better things. I found the pacing to be strange? I couldn't figure out whether this was moving too fast or not fast enough. I felt like so much happened, but also not enough happened? Kaz didn't come across like the brilliant mastermind I was expecting? I know I went into this with the highest expectations ever and that it was my ultimate downfall, but God.. I was hoping I wouldn't be let down. I don't even know how to articulate my thoughts. I'm just disappointed.

I will be continuing with Crooked Kingdom, I'd be stupid not to. But I've already lowered my expectations by a lot.

I can't be the only one that ships Nina and Inej right..... Screw men. I love my women and they love each other because I said so.
