How to End a Love Story
by Yulin Kuang
This book started off pretty interesting with the main characters coming back together years after a shared tragedy. But then it went downhill. Helen was not like able, Grant had his moments but also was mean to Helen randomly. I really didn’t get these two together or as friends. Their dialogue felt very strange and awkward at times. At one point Helen makes a joke using an accent and it was so bizarre to me cause I was 70% through the book and it was the first time Helen cracked a joke. I just didn’t get the characters and didn’t get why they liked each other.
Also not critical of the writing but I COULD NOT STAND the male narration on audiobook. He did this sinister voice that was so out of place. I literally had to fast forward through all spicy scenes because it was so off putting especially in that context.
