wierd book and wierd sexualization of teenage girls that was super offputting. I got that it is being told from the perspective of teenage boys, but I found so much of it to be gratuitous. the writing was very compelling, but there were inclusions of slurs and dehumanizing language that was totally unnecessary. the book can pretty much be summed up to: "middle aged friend group summarizes their objectifying views of a group of teenage girls without any consideration of their personhood or anything beyond their bodies." definitely worth reading the trigger warnings first. I guess this is a classic for the writing, which was good, but really the only thing special was the way the narrative was structured. not a "must read" in my view.
