Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions
by Edwin A. Abbott
This is intelligent & thought-provoking. The style of writing suffers a little due to when it was written, I think. The author even acknowledges about 50 pages in that the story has been focused entirely on describing Flatland up to that point. It would have been a more enjoyable read if that information had come out as relevant in the narrator's travels.
At any rate, it's still great commentary that I wish was less relevant to the world today.
