I absolutely loved this book. I listened to this as an audio book and part of my delight was the different voices used. I loved the voice of the Octopus. Alternating authors with each chapter added a layer of interest.

I normally cannot see a storyline coming, I am simply an "in the moment" reader. In this book I got glimpses of "ooohhhh" something is about to happen and it was lovely to watching things unfold the way they did.

This book certainly has lots of things to be sad about - and sad has great value. I loved that the sad moments or sad threads floated on the surface rather than pulling me in to a great depth of despair.

I look forward to discussing this with book club tomorrow.
