Alf (the cute bulldog pictured at the bottom) does not die ! Yay.
This is a story about three brothers, William aka Dagou, Ming and James. We recently find out that their mom Winnie, has left their dad Leo and is living with a bunch of other women in a Buddhist centered community home. Unfortunately, James is traveling during the winter- post a successful first semester from his freshman year of college. I say this is unfortunate because over the next two ish years of his life, the Chao family will be going through a lot. This is definitely a family drama impacted by a lot of variables going on and while the ending & twist surprised me, I lowkey might have been putting my expectations on high for this one. While this is a good book & the pacing wasn’t terrible, this could have used less time jumps.
