challenging emotional tense

5.0

The main character goes through an upsetting rift with her family, and questions about inheritance arise after her father's death. The story jumps between the question of inheritance and today's happenings, to memories of what happened leading up to the rift.

Hjorth has written an excellent, tense, and realistic book about family issues. How can siblings experience family life in such different ways? How do these rifts end up happening. Very reflective and enlightening.
