I'm not sure why it took me so long to read Little Women but I'm glad I finally read it. The story of the March sisters is so heartwarming. I hugged the book at the end. Although the book was written in the 1800s, Alcott touches on issues that we face today, i.e., love, relationships, and social/financial status. I loved the different personalities of the sisters and although there were sad moments, it was still so hopeful and full of lovely advice. I shed a tear at the end thinking about
Beth's death but I never felt angry at the author. It added something to the story and it is a part of life. With light, there is darkness. I didn't care for Laurie and Amy ending up together at first but Alcott wrapped it up so well and gave us plenty of reasons why Jo and Laurie would have been doomed.
Such a fantastic read!
