I thought this book was going to be more of a biography. Instead it’s a book about the evolution of high finance through the century of the spin-offs of the Morgan bank. It’s told through the eyes of characters / personas. It seems to have a heavy-ish recency bias (given when the book was written). It’s pretty value neutral on Wall Street which is interesting in and of itself.

Overall it’s just fine. It tries to impose a “Ages” structure which mostly makes sense but isn’t always coherent. It could use with more framing and context. The second half feels stronger than the first. No shocking insights.
