Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah

emotional hopeful medium-paced

4.5

The places where this memoir thrives are when Noah frames his chapters with a short history lesson. Many readers likely have limited knowledge of apartheid and South Africa’s history; so these added nonfiction excerpts help us understand the context in which Trever Noah grew up. His storytelling is nonetheless compelling and Noah had succeeded with writing a heartfelt and moving memoir.
