Book Recommendation:
So, I just finished this book because I have enjoyed many of her past books. She does "romantic suspense" I think would be the subcategory. Usually two investigators who fall in love over the course of a very nasty investigation. The investigations are usually of very nasty subjects. So fair warning there.

Anyway, this is a well written and enjoyable example of her work. They "mystery" is not particularly mysterious in this work (some of her others have more of a surprise driven plot) but I don't particularly like surprises so I liked that about it.

Also, while this is a series - most of her work using characters from her previous works as supporting ones in her new book, I definitely feel that it would be fine to read as a first time reader.

Of course, if you just wanted a recommendation for new author, this is one I would recommend going back to her earlier works and reading in chronological order. Her writing was just as good then (I think) and you'll have weeks of fun. Most of her earlier works are available as audio, and every couple of years I have a fun mouth of listening to her books from start to finish. I did read this one, not listen because it was not available yet from my library as audio (overdrive) but it might be by now. But I wanted to read it NOW. I've been listening to an (oldish) Nora Roberts ( the obsession) and the new Jayne Ann Krentz (where have all the girls gone - a very typical example of her work so if your looking for that, a good read, otherwise, don't bother with it) so I had listening material. Next I am going to try listening to some Jaci Burton books. I don't think I've read anything by her so we will see.
