The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy

5.0

a truly terrifying family portrayal of love and loss and trauma. the narrator sings through the tragedy with a matchless voice to mirror Estha's and Rahel's loss of childhood. this is not a novel well-crafted, it is the account of unspoken laws, psyche and greed of our world, all boiling down to the face of humanity. an incredibly lush prose with hyperrealistic elements and a new invented language instill, in us all, a mango-shaped fear.
