Postcards from the Edge by Carrie Fisher

4.0

A witty and fast-paced stream of consciousness from someone who has been there and done that. This is the basis for the film adaptation with Meryl Streep - however whereas the film is more plot based, the book is told by two semi-unreliable narrators. Suzanne takes the bulk of the time but Alex takes over for a while in the middle. Two characters with substance abuse issues but wildly different approaches and thought processes in relation to life. I enjoyed the pace and the humour. There were moments where I thought "My Year of Rest and Relaxation" - no doubt this book walked so MYoRaR could run.
