I loved this book! It was fast-paced and the writing was great and there were many funny moments, it made it more realistic (??). I loved Emira as a character, she was just great and the way she talked about Briar was so sweet. Kelley and Alix did controversial things but it just showed what Emira had to deal with even with people she trusted and thought she knew. The book showed us different types of daily racism and where one would think that's "normal" but it's not. It also showed that it's okay to not know what your next step is and what you want to do in the future but also the different "ranks" in society. I liked the way the characters were written because all of them were so realistic and somewhere relatable even the characters that are not likeable. But i must say Alix was an interesting character but the ending for Emira was so much better than what i expected!! I was so glad when Emira told Alix off because of the way she "treats" Briar because this girl deserves the best!
