Guys...this is the first book where I listened to the audiobook at more than 1.25 speed. I finished the book by listening to it at 1.80 speed. I WAS SO INCREDIBLY BORED. The story had such promise, pirates fighting in ships made out of the bones of dragon/sea serpents, weird magic freaky creatures, and somehow, only 10% of the way into the book I had my first "this is really boring..." moment.
I couldn't keep track of the characters at first - I was like 6 hrs into the book before I could recall the characters names- and they honestly just fell flat, so flat.
Also, the tidal wave of rage I would feel whenever someone would say "ee!" as an affimative response...instead of AYE was just too much. Like...we already have an easy option that most people are familiar with that you can use - but NOOOOO have to keep world building. Seriously, the amount of cringe I would feel with every "ee" cannot fully be described.
Wish I had dnf'd this at 10%.
