Bittersweet by Noelle Adams

4.5 stars. The romance in this worked so well for me.
SpoilerIt was fairly obvious that Adam had had feelings for her back when he first met her but just moved too slowly and then Zoe meeting Josh and starting to date him made Adam retreat, but it made sense why Zoe wouldn’t realize what had happened since he never showed any signs of being into her.
I really loved how even though things were distant between them at the start, Adam was really the only one who had any idea of what Zoe was going through, so there was as reason for them to start reconnecting. I thought the pacing of this was really good — a lot of time passes over the course of the story, which it needs to before anything can happen between them considering Zoe’s husband just died (although a couple of the time-jumps at the beginning did feel a little abrupt to me). I liked the slow development of them reconstructing their friendship and then Zoe realizing she’s starting to be attracted to Adam and have feelings for him. And everything between Adam and Logan was really cute (Uncle Lala!). And the epilogue was really great. So yeah, I just really enjoyed this!
