Jasmine: 30th Anniversary Edition by Bharati Mukherjee

4.0

I'd give this a 3.5. The entire middle section is gripping and emotional - you empathise with Jasmine's hardships & struggles. Near the beginning and end, the Iowa bits, I found myself struggling to care/pay attention. I like the many people she becomes, and the names she assigns herself during each transformation.

Is the ending her final step in integrating, in becoming American?
