This book genuinely surprised me.
I read a lot of thrillers, but this one struck a different chord. This is the first K.L Cerra book I've read, and I'm definitely interested in picking up Such Pretty Flowers next!
While this book is mainly categorized as a thriller, there were specific plot points that hit home. Dealing with female friendships as a teenager through adult years, what it means to be self-fulfilled, and weighing the decision to become a mother or not.
This book really picks up toward the end, and the mystery spirals into chaos. The ending left me uneasy, which is my favorite way to leave a thriller. We don't really get absolution or justice - rather we get tension and the unsaid theme of the book... What do we give up as women to become mothers? What, in turn, do we gain?
This book was gifted to me by Random House, all thoughts and opinions are my own!
