Queen of Myth and Monsters by Scarlett St. Clair
1.0
There is no coming back from this failure of a book - just let this series die.
There is absolutely zero substance to this book. The world it is set in is not thought out or at all interesting. The existence of witches and vampires feels like a halfhearted attempt to stray away from the fey craze. None of the characters are likable or in any way admirable. In fact, I deeply hate each of the characters. Even the sex scenes are completely bad!
When I saw that I was 81% of the way through, I thought I would cry because I still had 19% to go and the thought of giving this book any more of my attention felt unbearable, even though I soldiered through it. After having read other books by the author, I feel deeply disappointed that this was brought to publish by her and her editors. I can detect no amount of love or caring or joy that was put into the making of this book.
