Where She Went by Gayle Forman

5.0

When I first began reading this book - 3 hours ago - I was nervous. I'm a pretty emotional person, and I had just finished If I Stay, which broke something inside of me (for personal reasons). I was afraid that reading the sequel was going to rip my heart out, especially because I had already read the summary for this book, and as a writer, I have a pretty good idea what other writers are going to do. I won't say I was surprised by the story line. The story itself isn't just what makes this book so amazing.
The thing that gets to me - and I can say this because I really read both of them in one day - is that the author actually managed to give both Mia and Adam different voices between the two books. That is incredibly hard to do. Don't pretend any of you that it is an easy thing. Anyway, wow. I read this book so fast that I didn't even update Goodreads until I was already finished with it. Definitely recommend.
