While the first couple chapters were a bit slow, this book quickly picked up the pace afterwards. I had such an emotional journey with the characters. I would consider this a fairly slow burn. I did not see the ending coming at all. I simultaneously wanted to pick the next book up immediately and refuse to read it because of what happened.
