If you've seen the film, the Wybie character is not in the book and the bit where the other mother becomes a spider and Coraline is caught in her web alsonis not there. The rest of it is pretty spot on, but it made for a very underwhelming ending.

The other mother engages in gaslighting Coraline quite often by kind of skirting around the truth and making Coraline believe her life in the other world is better. Coraline herself also does not die, but there are
