“She corrupted me”

Alright so, I didn’t particularly love this nor did I hate it. But if asked based off of a scale from like to dislike, definitely leaning more towards the dislike end of the scale. The entire story felt very 2015 Wattpad bully romance-ish. So nostalgia kicked in, I guess? The writing was ok, the plot was intriguing but quite predictable.

Rika. Most times Rika definitely came off as the rich girl who’s quirky and wanting to be different. She’s “not like other girls”. But as the story progressed, we understand that she’s a lot more stronger, much of a badass and quite intelligent. I loved Rika’s character. It seemed like she did a bunch of stupid stuff sometimes but I really did like her.

Michael. Oh wow the way I hate this asshole. nope, I did not fall for him, at all. I have nothing nice to say except that he’s head over heels for Rika and I love a good simp.

I had quite a number of issues with the book.

- the misogynist tendencies of all the men in the book
- the fetishism of WLW for the sake of the men’s satisfaction
- the shaming of escorts/sex workers
- slut shaming
- the sexualisation of minors
- the idea of “waiting till she’s legal”

Yes all these things (+ a few more) really irked and bothered me. The bully parts of the book didn’t bother me (dark romance after all) I really wasn’t feeling this book a lot. But maybe that’s just me, I didn’t love it as much as everyone seemed to. The epilogue was quite symbolic though, that I loved.
