If you asked me to review this book before I read the last forty-ish pages, I'd have lost myself in unnecessarily long panegiric about Dionysus characterization and the relationship between Ariadne and Phaedra. The fact is, however, that those last forty pages do exist and they make the story very different. I think it's still early to say if they do it in a good or bad way, it depends on whatever you'll want to reap from this tale, but this story may be described as subjectively good. "Ariadne" doesn't try to tell a story with a happy ending, it tries, and succeeds, to tell the point of view of two mortal women and their tragedy. It may not be hopeful, it may leave a sour aftertaste in your mouth after having read it but I think it's definitely worth it.
