Playing with the Sad Girl literary trope, Kohda adds the philosophy of vampires to the mix, and the result is an indulgent reflective internal narrative. There could have perhaps been a bit more of the protagonist’s relationship with her mother, and her further exploration of her vampire self being added, but a nice read overall.
