"Echo of Fear" is the first full-length novel in the new Chris Echo series by author Tara Meyers, and I have to say, it's off to a great start. The author's description of the island, from the hot sunny beaches to the beautiful house and cabins interspersed among the vibrant wooded areas, made me feel like I was actually there. And when a Category 2 hurricane comes barreling in, I could feel the wind and waves pounding against the walls. It is into this maelstrom that Kyle and his band of guerillas comes head to head with Chris and a small group of tourists, who were unfortunate enough to land themselves on the island for a vacation at this particular time. Headstrong and the type to take the world on her shoulders, Chris immediately tries to think of ways out of this deadly predicament. As the winds howl and the rain beats down, you'll find yourself totally immersed in this wonderful, suspenseful and terrifying novel. This is a great new series, by a fantastic author. Absolutely everything this author writes is spectacular, and this book is no exception.
