The Lights of Sugarberry Cove by Heather Webber
5.0

When I'm having a rough day, I always reach for one of Heather Webber's books. Why? Because her books always feel like you're being wrapped in a warm blanket or having a nice chat with a friend and it was just the balm that I needed during the time I started reading it.
Like with all of Heather's books, I found the characters relatable and enjoyable, even those (like Susannah) who were annoying at first. Even with the feeling of "Oh my gosh, this woman is a piece of work!" there were still times when you couldn't help but smile. I liked getting to know the different people of Sugarberry Cove and getting a peek into their lives. I thought the story was very well written and heartwarming.
My husband looked at me when I finished and said that I looked sad. I explained that I always look sad after reading one of Heather's books because she has a way of writing that makes the characters feel like friends and I don't want to leave them behind. I always need a bit of time to recover, but I also want to jump right in to the next book. Great job, Heather!
