Bill Browder is a good storyteller -- I chose this after enjoying Freezing Order -- but I felt this one was a little long. The story is involved and Browder has a talent for detail, quoting conversations or recounting movements that most of us would forget years after the fact. Still, there are places that could have been cut back, like commentary on his first wife. If you're going to choose one Browder book, pick Freezing Order but if you're curious about Russia or any of the cast of characters in his dramatic world, Red Notice is worth the read.
