I am actually mad I read this book. (It was for a book club at work, so I wanted to participate.) I anticipated something emotional and well done based on the love people have for her romantasy books. This was trauma porn. It was upsetting and sad interspersed with open door sex scenes (which felt icky due to all of the trauma). Check content warnings.
