Superman: Emperor Joker by Jeph Loeb

2.0

Campy and overrated. It seems unfair to give Loeb credit for all of this. Emperor Joker is a nine issue arc written by many different people. The Loeb parts live up to expectation and he writes some pretty good Joker dialogue as well as funnily and eerily re-imagines a world fashioned by the king of insanity. The rest... Well, the rest is puerile. I think I'm finally just going to have to accept that there are really only about five or six really good Superman stories out there, but man do those jewels shine. I don't understand how so many people could fail to do well with such a great character.
