Second edit: rounded it back up to 4 stars. I still am not convinced on Maddy and Zach but I read the author’s note and thought more about Zach’s relationship with his daughters after his wife’s death and how you can love after such a traumatic event and I’m back on the train!!
3.5 rounded up to 4. I LOVED Unfurl and I am all for a hot single dad romance but unlike Unfurl I didn’t think the main characters earned their relationship. It went from just sex to love in 0.5 seconds and I didn’t buy it for one second. This book also really had no plot lmao but I loved Maddy’s internal dialogue though, and damn can Elodie write smut!!!
Edit: I read the extended epilogue and it did sell me slightly more on the relationship but not enough to change the stars.
