Romans in space and a boy who has to prove himself in a game like Kantniss. Much more brutal than "The Hunger Games", but just as critical of a hierarchical system. I found the basic concept of the book great and the plot surprised me a few times. Therefore I will continue reading the series. Unfortunately, I did find some shortcomings in the language. Some sentences were repeated embarrassingly often: "Dirt under my/her/his finger nails". The dialog sometimes seemed a little awkward and some battles were won illogically quickly. Despite the flaws, it was exciting, although certainly not a literary masterpiece.
