Muse of Nightmares
by Laini Taylor
"Once upon a time there was a silence that dreamed of becoming a song, and then I found you, and now everything is music"
Sarai has lived and breathed nightmares since she was six years old.
She believed she knew every horror, and was beyond surprise.
She was wrong.
Synopsis:
In the wake of tragedy, neither Lazlo nor Sarai are who they were before. One a god, the other a ghost, they struggle to grasp the new boundaries of their selves as dark-minded Minya holds them hostage, intent on vengeance against Weep.
Lazlo faces an unthinkable choice - save the woman he loves, or everyone else? - while Sarai feels more helpless than ever. But is she? Sometimes, only the direst need can teach us our own depths, and Sarai, the muse of nightmares, has not yet discovered what she's capable of.
As humans and Godspawn reel in the aftermath of the citadel's near fall, a new foe shatters their fragile hopes, and the mysteries of the Mesarthim are resurrected: Where did the gods come from, and why? What was done with the thousands of children born in the citadel nursery? And most important of all, as forgotten doors are opened and new worlds revealed: must heroes always slay monsters, or is it possible to save them instead?
I decided to note down the main characters and their gifts just for me to remember.

Review-
We left Strange The Dreamer in utter shock and awe. Sarai had died Minya had enslaved her spirit and was also controlling an army of Ghosts ready for revenge and Strange found out that he really a God. I mean I was left shocked and with so many more questions and that's where muse of nightmares came in. We pretty much were left speechless and emotionless from the first book so I already knew the emotions in muse of nightmares was going to be high but boy did I not expect this. It was an absolute rollercoaster there is love and hate and revenge and friendships and character development I just couldn't take my eyes off the pages. I was utterly transfixed on every world Laini Taylor was writing.
Laini Taylor is an artist and muse of nightmares is her masterpiece
This book exhausted me. In a good way of course. Laini Taylor manages to convey the ultimate suspense, the eagerness to know what happens next keeps building and building and we have to keep waiting but you don't mind because it's so beautiful and I just found myself exhausted it was so intense.
I'm so deliriously happy that we finally get to have an almost origin story about previous life for the Mesarthim. I was so intrigued I made sure to read slow and digest every page and every bit of information. If I had coloured tabs on me this book would be filled with them.
Nova and Kora was a brilliant added plus story to this book. I'm so thankful that we finally get more history and learn more about powers and how they are formed. Although the story is brilliant and sad I would absolutely love another book of just Nova's journeys and the things she's done and the people she has killed and her endless rampage of how she became so bad ass and found the rest of her few and what she has been up to if she fell in love or lost.
Of course we finally had Strange and Sarai cute moments of them. I am still so incredibly distraught from her death of the first book but i'm just so in love with both of them together they are genuinely my favourite couple and I want to experience love like this.
After finishing the book I don't think I will ever be able to sum up how incredible this book was. Strange The Dreamer has a special place in my heart being its my favourite book and all and Laini Taylors writing is beyond spectacular. I am left with a hole in my heart but I am refusing to shed a tear as I want there to be more so desperately and the ending like that there HAS to be more please Laini Taylor I beg you to write more ahhh.
This whole story was such an amazing experience It filled me with nothing but happiness and of course a little bit of sadness but oh my lord was it perfect.
No matter what I write for this review it will never compare to the beauty that is Laini Taylor's writing it's just truly magical.
P.S - Will happily sell my soul for a 3rd book please and thank you.
P.S.S- This book is filled with so many gorgeous quotes that I want them all tattooed around my body.
