Bobby Beacon has trouble controlling his temper and as a result gets in trouble at school, until he meets a teacher who treats him with respect and teaches him how to calm down when he feels his temper flaring. Oh but wait--did I mention that Bobby is a budding superhero with the power to shoot lava from his hands when he gets upset, and that his school is the Academy for Kids with Awesome Abilitiies, and that his archnemesis is Headmaster Chaos from the Institute for Supervillians!? This picture book is told in graphic novel format which will allow this important story to resonate with kids in a fun way. They may enjoy it so much that they don't even realize the lessons they are learning along the way: How to control ones temper, the importance of kids having adults who believe in them, and the value of second chances. -SKB
