Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner

5.0

i cried at the first chapter and constantly texted my mother that i love her for the whole two days i listened to the audiobook. both a talented musician and writer, Zauner did a wonderful job evoking serious and deep emotions. Though written about her life as a half-Korean daughter of a somewhat complicated and (later in life) deathly ill mother, the way she talks about family can feel so personally relatable despite having little in common with myself. i wish i could thank her for putting such a beautiful memoir into the world.
