The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

3.5/5
I was really intrigued to read this when I first managed to get my hands on an ARC of it (thanks Little Library!), cause I know it has a huge fan base! The premise really intrigued me, so I gave it a go.

The prologue was absolutely incredible and now after reading the whole book, I kind of wish it was told in third person, because I feel like the prose would flow more, would be even more sinister and it would sink you in.

I will say that I ended up liking Cardan's character, but I don't fully get the hype over Jude/Cardan just yet.
I think another issue that I had with 'The Cruel Prince", is there were so many characters to follow in terms of the court that when the action happened and literally half of the characters were murdered, while told gruesomely...it had no impact on me because I felt nothing for these characters.

I'm definitely intrigued in the world, Jude and Cardan as characters, so I'm going to give the second book a chance...but I was unfortunately a little disappointed in this book.
