Rich Dad, Poor Dad
by Robert T. Kiyosaki
Robert Kiyosaki tells it like it is. This is a good primer to learning about finance, especially because schools don't teach this kind of knowledge in their curriculum. Kiyosaki clearly defines the mindset needed to start accumulating wealth. I had never known the true definitions of assets and liabilities until I read this book. Simply put, as Robert Kiyosaki says, assets put money in your pocket, and liabilities take money out of your pocket. The only rule to getting rich is to know the difference between assets and liabilities, and buy assets. This is the only rule, and it is true according to my brother, who has acquired nearly $300,000 in assets over the course of the past five years. If you want to achieve financial freedom, this is a good place to start.
