I know this is a YA book, but it just felt so childishly written. Thought the cults motivation was rubbish, and as such the whole book was ruined for me. The idea of Dorm 13 and Coron I liked (as much as one can like a cult), as well as the symmetry around religion.
The end was a bit rubbish and rushed, and I just think it’s a ridiculous and poor reflection as to what would happen irl. What 13 year old can jump on the back of a lorry on a motorway 😭
Characters felt so flat and not realistic at all?? Not many positives to the book aside from the cover and back blurb - excellent (the reason I picked it up) - should’ve read the synopsis on the inside though.
