Scott Smith you sick mother fucker,,, this is the first book where the body horror aspect actually made me squeamish. The way you could tell exactly where the plot was going but with just enough chance that you could hope you were wrong. The characters themselves acknowledging this was interesting. The endorsement by Stephen King on the cover was very spot on. The plot was of a similar style, the writing even more so. I had a feeling that the ending would be very similar to The Mist by Stephen King. That just after they had given up or when only one person remained, help would come. I didn't originally think help would come at all but towards the end i think it was well implied that help would arrive just barely too late. Beautiful ending, I always say that books can drastically improve by killing the main character(s).
